FAQ

Where is your shop located?
We're in 29. As a cottage food operation and virtual kitchen, we operate primarily through online orders. If you are a business (cafe, restaurant or retailer) wanting to carry our bagels for resale, please contact us

While we don't have a storefront for browsing, you can view photos of our products on our website or Instagram. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about our offerings, please don't hesitate to contact us.

How do I order from your website?

We take pre-orders which means you place your order the day before you pick up or have it delivered. The cut off time for pre-orders is no later than 6 pm.

The day your order is available for pickup, you'll be notified by text message. Generally, pickups are available either mornings or afternoons, as early as 8 am and as late as 5 pm.

Pick ups are also available at Desert General and during their normal business hours.

Storage and Revival

Our bagels are quite resilient. These tips will help you under different conditions.

Freezing

Freezing the bagels is the best way to keep them for the long term. I personally do this. I usually slice them and put them into a freezer Ziploc bag (the kind with the zipper). I can access one half at a time and put that into the toaster oven. Sometimes I nuke it first for 15 seconds first and then pop them into the toaster oven.

From a plastic bag

If you received our bagels in a plastic sealed pouch with our logo on it, unless you are freezing the entire bag, open the bag and let the bagels sit out in room temperature for a few minutes or longer. Slice them in half and put them into your toaster or toaster oven. Or slice them in half and freeze them.

From hard state

Even if the bagel has been sitting out of a bag and has become as hard as a boulder in Joshua Tree, there's a way to revive it. Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. Submerge the bagel in warm water or under running warm water for few minutes. Loosely wrap the bagel in aluminum foil and bake for 5 minutes or to your liking.

I ordered in advance from the website as required but I cannot pick it up the next day.

Text 760-361-9191 and explain your situation. We can likely accommodate if you message within a reasonable amount of time after your order was placed. We'll put your bagels into a FoodSaver bag and seal it with a little air removed. It will remain at room temperature until you pick it up.

I can't make it during the pickup window.

I'd like to order more than you may have available.

That's great! Ordering in advance is still required but if you're planning on ordering more than two dozen then please call The Baker at 760-361-9191 during operational hours posted here or DM @29loaves on Instagram.

Can I place a same-day order for pickup?

Unfortunately, not at this time.

Can I request customizations or dietary accommodations for my order?
The only customization we can offer when purchasing in advance through our website is a salt-free and/or vegan (no egg wash) options for our bagels only.

Do you offer delivery services?

For an additional fee, varying by distance, deliveries can be made to as  far west of us as Pioneertown and as far east of us as Wonder Valley.

Are your products allergen-friendly?
While we take precautions to prevent cross-contamination, our bagels do not contain nuts and dairy. However, our bagel toppings such as black sesame and everything contain sesame seeds which is a known allergen. Our PDQs contain dairy in the form as whole milk and cheese. They also contain spicy jalapeno. If you have severe allergies, please contact us before placing your order to discuss any concerns.

Can I place a bulk order for a special event or occasion?
Absolutely! We love helping our customers celebrate special occasions with delicious bagels and PDQs. For large or custom orders, please reach out to us in advance to discuss availability, pricing, and any specific requirements. You can text The Baker at 917-494-3454, 7 days a week. Or, email hello@29loaves.com or DM @29Loaves on Instagram.

How should I store my baked goods after pickup?

To maintain freshness, we recommend storing your baked goods in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator, for longer term. You can even freeze them in a ziploc bag or wrapped in aluminum foil. In a sealed bag or container, they will last even longer.

Do you offer gift cards or gift certificates?

Yes, we offer gift cards that can be purchased through our website or in person at our bakery. They make the perfect gift for any occasion and can be redeemed for any of our delicious baked goods.
